⚙️ How it works
\nThe system has two main parts:
\n1) Sense (measurement)
\n- \n
- A flow cell constantly samples pool water \n
- Sensors measure:\n
- \n
- pH probe → acidity level \n
- ORP probe → chlorine strength (sanitizing power) \n
\n
2) Dispense (chemical control)
\nIt can control:
\n- \n
- 🧂 Salt chlorinator output (more/less chlorine production) \n
- 🧪 Acid dosing pump (to lower pH) \n
- 🫧 CO₂ system (in some setups) \n
\n
🧱 Main components
\n- \n
- Flow cell chamber (water sample loop) \n
- pH probe \n
- ORP probe \n
- Control module (HL-CHEM / AQL-CHEM) \n
- Injection control outputs (acid/chlorine systems) \n
\n
👍 Key benefits
\n✔ Automatic water balancing (less manual testing)
✔ More stable chlorine levels (no big highs/lows)
✔ Better compatibility with saltwater pools
✔ Integrates into full Hayward automation systems
✔ Can be monitored via app (with OmniLogic setups)
\n
⚠️ Real-world limitations
\n- \n
- ❌ Not fully “set and forget” (still needs calibration) \n
- ❌ Probes require cleaning and replacement over time \n
- ❌ Flow cell must maintain correct water flow or readings become wrong \n
- ❌ Can be expensive compared to manual testing \n
- ❌ Acid/CO₂ systems still require refills and maintenance \n
